Wat is 8Shields?
8 Shields, now Connection 1st,
was a training organisation founded around Jon Young.
As a teenager, Jon was mentored from an indigenous heritage, with a strong emphasis on connection with nature. He has also visited indigenous peoples where the social fabric is still intact, such as the San Bushmen of the Kalahari. On his journey, he explored elements that are important for a healthy culture.
Combining indigenous skills with modern ecology,
he developed core routines that build the essential connection with nature, which has been proven to create happier, more creative people and communities.
It awakens something in us
that is as old as the earth itself...
that is our own...that you come home to!
